Editorial and medical review policy

TED Community publishes information about thyroid eye disease for patients and the people around them. This page explains who writes our content, who checks it medically, and how we handle sources and corrections.

Who writes our content

Every article and page records the author it was published under. Where the author is a named clinician, that name is shown on the article and links to a profile page.

Some older pages were published under a shared editorial account. For those, we show the account rather than attributing the text to a person we cannot verify.

Medical review

Health articles are assigned to a medical reviewer, who is responsible for the medical accuracy of the information.

A review date is only displayed when it is documented. Where an article is assigned to a reviewer but the date of the last review has not yet been confirmed, we say so instead of showing an assumed date.

Sources

When an article cites external sources, they are listed at the end of the article with a link to the original publication.

Articles without a source list have not yet had their references recorded; this work is ongoing.

Corrections and contact

If you believe something on this site is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us and tell us which page it concerns. We correct confirmed errors and update the review information on the page.

Not medical advice

The information on this site is general information about thyroid eye disease. It does not replace a consultation, diagnosis or treatment by your own doctor.
